CLI setup

Step 1

Install opsctl

Your terminal is where the work happens. Install the CLI on macOS or Linux.

curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -LsSf https://downloads.opsd.sh/opsctl/install.sh | sh

Installs to ~/.local/bin. Follow the installer’s instructions to add it to your PATH if needed.

Step 2

This opens your browser to approve CLI access. Sign in with the same account you’re using here.

opsctl auth login

Step 3

Create a business, set up a practice, or accept an invitation to an existing team.

Once you’re done, refresh this page to see your organisations.

Replace the example name with your business name.

opsctl businesses create --name "My business"

Setting up a practice?

Prepare reporting.json with your practice’s HMRC reporting details, then replace the example name below.

opsctl practices create --name "My practice" --hmrc-reporting reporting.json

Joining an existing organisation?

Ask an administrator to invite your account’s email address. List your invitations, then replace INVITATION_ID with the ID you want to accept.
